Applications for Bursary/Loans are invited from students wishing to qualify as Science Teachers. Candidates will be expected to complete a BSc and Post Graduate Certificate in Education, and to take up a science teaching career.
We are seeking very good students who will complete their studies in minimum time and who are motivated to become science teachers. Only students who are registered for BSc degree (2nd year or beyond) in 2013 or BSc graduates registered for a Post Graduate Certificate in Education will be considered for 2013 bursaries.
Financial need will also be taken into account and students who are already in receipt of full funding bursaries cannot be considered.
Successful candidates will be eligible for a bursary that will cover a substantial portion of their annual tuition fees (approximately R20 000, 00 per annum) for up to 4 years to enable them to complete the BSc and PGCE. In the event of candidates not complying with the conditions of the bursary, the bursary will revert to a loan, repayable to the University of KwaZulu Natal.
Students who are interested in applying for this bursary are required to obtain a financial aid application from The Student Funding Centre on the Westville campus or Pietermaritzburg campus.
